Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.
Who can get a card
Library cards are free to members of the Caseyville Public Library District which includes everything inside the city limits of Caseyville and parts of Hollywood Heights.
Persons requesting a card should bring in a picture I.D. and a piece of mail with a current address. Children are required to have their parent's signature on their library cards.
Non-residence fees
The fee for non-resident cards is determined by THE TAX BILL METHOD. (This decision is voted upon by the library board of trustees on a yearly basis. Recent vote 6-2-10) Non-resident fees are equivalent to the amount of taxes you would pay for library services if you resided inside the library district.
How to Get Your Card
Cards are available at the check-out desk in the entrance of the library. Any staff member will be glad to help you with obtaining a library card.
Borrowing Limits
There are no borrowing limits on the number of books you may check out on a library card. However, VHS tapes and DVDs are limited to four at a time
Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Renewing books can be done at the circulation desk or by phone (345-5848). Simply tell the staff member your name, and they will renew all the items listed in your account at the moment
Library Fines
Fines for overdue books are 10 cents per day for each item that is overdue. Fines for DVDs and VHS tapes are $1.00 per day.
