"History is written by the winners. The books say the Indians were bad guys and the whites just needed a little land. It's like, Excuse me, let me take your car. I'm discovering it. I'm putting my flag on your windshield."

Who can get a card

Library cards are free to members of the Caseyville Public Library District which includes everything inside the city limits of Caseyville and parts of Hollywood Heights.

Persons requesting a card should bring in a picture I.D. and a piece of mail with a current address.  Children are required to have their parent's signature on their library cards.

Non-residence fees

The fee for non-resident cards is determined by THE TAX BILL METHOD. (This decision is voted upon by the library board of trustees on a yearly basis. Recent vote 6-2-10) Non-resident fees are equivalent to the amount of taxes you would pay for library services if you resided inside the library district.
