CASEYVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT MINUTES CASEYVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT MINUTES December 3, 2008 1. The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Present: Lisa Chance, Doris Evans, Nick Gaut, Sue Penny, and Pat Watkins. Library Staff: Chris Stewart and Marge Zimmerman. Absent: Karen Franke and Kent LeBlanc. 3. Minutes of the November 5, 2008 meeting were approved on a motion made by Sue Penny and Lisa Chance. PASSED. 4. The treasurer’s report was reviewed. Motion was made by Pat Watkins, seconded by Nick Gaut to accept the report. PASSED 5. Bills were discussed –Chris stated that the Insulated Koolers listed would be sold later in the spring. The AVG item is for virus protection.. Motion made by Pat Watkins, seconded by Nick Gaut.. PASSED. 6. Petitions and Communications: None 7. The Librarian presented the Tax Levy for the year. She is asking $79,500 more than last levy (about 2% more). Needs be filed and she will take it to the Court House tomorrow. Motion made to accept the proposed Levy by Nick Gaut, seconded by Lisa Chance. PASSED. 8. Committee Reports - None 9. Old Business: Gates Grant being applied for. Chris will also be taking class on Text Atlas which is a program to show how old each computer is. She will report back to the board on results. 9. New Business: Discussion on hours to close early for the holidays. On Christmas Eve the Library will be open from 10 to 12 p.m. and on New Year’s Eve they will close 1 hour earlier than usual. A gift was presented to Lisa Chance on the birth of her son from the group. 10. Meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m. Pat Watkins Acting Secretary
