Caseyville Library is proud to present Winter Reads 2021. Take the challenge with Caseyville Public Library and go at your own pace. Read, learn, discover, explore, and create. Register now and start your challenge.
*This is a program for everyone. All ages and abilities welcome.
How to Join the Challenge
Step 1: Pick up your Winter Reads 2021 packet with Caseyville Library. Call 618-632-5948 to reserve a pickup time. OR download the information from https://www.caseyvillelibrary.org/virtualevents.
Step 2: Go to Caseyvillelibrary.beanstack.com to register yourself and/or your family with BeanStack to track your activity.
Step 3: Read and participate in our events and activities to earn badges. Badges earn you tickets that go to the prize drawing.
Step 4: When you are finished, enter your tickets on BeanStack for a chance at the prize drawing!
Winter Reads 2021 Themes:
Reflect & Restart
Reflect on the past year and make aspirations for the new year. Read from our book list that outlines authors that encourage mindfulness and balance in your life. Follow along with our virtual events and programs to learn about creating your own comfort. We've also included a section on perspectives and experiences inspired by BeanStack and Simon & Schuster's "Books Like Us" campaign that celebrates inclusion and understanding by seeing ourselves in another person's story.
Celebrate Winter
Winter here is often cold and snowy. It can be isolating, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Everything retreats inward, the plants, the animals, and even us. We can still find light, hope, warmth, and joy by seeking beauty and comfort in the present. Your Caseyville librarians have compiled a list of books with cold, snowy scenes and cozy, winter moods along with activities and events you can participate in that will help you celebrate winter.
